Team Status - FAQ's
The Toledo Bullfrogs will be "sitting on the sidelines" for what was thought would be their Inaugural Season in 2010. To follow is a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding the organizational decision to postpone play.

Is there any chance of playing Arena Football in 2010?
No. Although the interest in Arena Football is quite high - nearly 2,200 season tickets had already been sold - we have decided that it is in
the best interest of our community and our fans to sit on the sidelines for the 2010 season.
What happened?
We will try to make a very long story short. There were two arena football leagues with the most stability. The 22-year-old "Arena Football
League" cancelled its' 2009 season and recently declared bankruptcy. The 10-year-old, "Arena Football 2 League," a partner of the Arena
Football League, played football in 2009 and planned on doing so in 2010. That has since changed.
In the last four weeks much has happened. Although Arena Football 2 has attempted to navigate the legal challenges facing the bankruptcy of Arena Football, there are still outstanding issues. In mid-September, we were informed that all of the teams of Arena Football 2 had resigned from the League. AF2 no longer has any member teams. It has suspended operations and is defunct. On Monday, September 28, a new league called "Arena Football One" was introduced to the public.
Due to this transition and after careful consideration, we thought that it would be in our community's best interest to "sit this one out" until things become more defined in the arena football community. After performing our due diligence and examining the financial stability of the numerous leagues that currently exist, then and only then, can we make an informed decision for our fans and our community.
Is there a chance of playing in 2011? When will we know that?
After performing our due diligence and examining the financial stability of the leagues that currently exist, then we can make an informed
decision for our fans and our community. We hope that all of the arena football leagues do very well and remain financially stable.
Is there an af2 league any more?
In mid-September, we were informed that all of the teams of Arena Football 2 had resigned from the League. AF2 no longer has a commissioner
or any member teams; it has suspended operations and is defunct. On Monday, September 28, a new league called "Arena Football One" was
introduced to the public in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Toledo was invited to join Arena Football One.
Why not join Arena Football One?
We were very pleased to be invited to join the new league called Arena Football One. However, what originally attracted us to Arena Football
and its' partner, Arena Football 2, was the length of time that each were in business (22 years and 10 years, respectively). Each
league had a track record which was subject to review and analysis. It is one of the many reasons that attracted us to join AF2 originally -
fundamentally, the financial model made sense. That has since changed as Arena Football One is in "start-up" mode again. Many of the teams
that the Bullfrogs would have played against were located in the Eastern Time Zone. Many of the teams will now be located in the Mountain
and Pacific Time Zones, causing our travel costs to rise substantially.
When was the decision made to sit on the sidelines for the 2010 season?
We have been collecting as much information as possible, with the hopes that we would receive the assurances that we desired and get to
a "yes." We decided for sure within the last week. We also wanted to make sure that we put together the right refund offers to our season
ticketholders and suite holders.
What happens to the 8 dates at the arena?
SMG, the arena management company responsible for booking concerts, family shows, other sporting events, etc., will have more flexibility
to book additional shows. The Toledo Walleye will have more dates to choose from for playoff games (let's hope!).
Are there other football leagues we can join?
There are numerous arena football leagues in the United States to choose from. We will perform the necessary due diligence before making
a decision.
